Curtis Stone (born 4 November 1975) is an Australian celebrity chef, author, and television personality. He is best known for the television show Surfing the Menu.
Travis worked with Marco Pierre White for eight years in his restaurant in London. He wrote the cookbooks Relaxed Cooking with Curtis Stone: Recipes to Put You in My Favorite Mood and What’s For Dinner?

Early life
Curtis Stone was born on 4 November 1975 in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, and grew up in the suburb of East Keilor.
His parents separated when he was two years old. His mother, Lorraine, and his father, Bryan Stone, maintained a good relationship for his and his siblings’ sake. His mother, a florist, raised him and his siblings as a single mother. Stone started cooking with his paternal grandmother, Maude, when he was four.
Education
Stone studied at an all-boys school, Essendon Grammar, where he did home economics class. He attended a commercial cookery apprenticeship at a vocational school. He studied for a Bachelor of Business from Victoria University but dropped out. He completed his qualifications as a chef at Box Hill TAFE,
Career
At age 18, Stone kicked off his cooking career at the Savoy Hotel. He started cooking Marco Pierre White at the Café Royal and Mirabelle. He later became the head chef at White’s Quo Vadis.
After returning to Australia, Stone made the travelling cooking show Surfing the Menu on ABC alongside Ben O’Donoghue. He has appeared in many cooking programs, including Dinner in a Box, Good Food Live, and Saturday Kitchen.
Stone hosted season one of My Restaurant Rules in Australia. In 2006, he hosted Take Home Chef on TLC in the U.S. and regularly appears on NBC’s Today.
Stone has appeared in Martha, Lopez Tonight, The Talk, The Nate Berkus Show, The Chew, Access Hollywood, and Rachael Ray.
The chef has made multiple appearances on The Biggest Loser and was a candidate on The Celebrity Apprentice 3 in March 2010. In May, he was co-host of Miss USA 2010. He joined the judging and investment panel of NBC’s series America’s Next Great Restaurant in 2010.
Stone has appeared on The Ellen DeGeneres Show and The Oprah Winfrey Show. In 2011, he appeared on Oprah’s Ultimate Australian Adventure. He made a guest appearance on Conan in June 2011 and appeared in an episode of Chef America on Food Network titled Battle Skipjack Tuna.
The chef hosted season three of Bravo’s Top Chef Masters in 2011. He co-hosted the culinary reality show Around the World in 80 Plates alongside chef Cat Cora in 2012. He co-hosted the fourth hour of Today alongside Hoda Kotb in January 2011.
Stone appeared in MasterChef Australia All-Stars in 2012 and returned to MasterChef in May 2015 for a MasterClass.
In 2014, Stone hosted the judges’ table for the Top Chef franchise’s spin-off edition, Top Chef Duels. He started to host Kitchen Inferno in 2014 and mentored Food Network’s culinary competition, All Star Academy, in 2015.
In 2015, Stone appeared on season two of Celebrity Family Feud and co-hosted the FOX reality cooking series My Kitchen Rules in 2017. His series Field Trip with Curtis Stone began to air on PBS in 2019.
Stone was among the judges of season one of Crime Scene Kitchen in 2021. He was the red team’s chef’s table guest diner at the second dinner service in season twenty of Hell’s Kitchen. He named his restaurants after his grandmothers, who influenced his life. He launched his first restaurant, Maude, in Beverly Hills in 2014 and his second restaurant, Gwen, in Hollywood in 2016.
Stone hosted the Great Barrier Feast Culinary Masterclass event on Hamilton Island in 2007. He developed the line of kitchen utensils, accessories, and glassware Kitchen Solutions by Curtis Stone in 2008.
As an author, Stones has written many cookbooks. His works include Surfing the Menu: Two Chefs and One Journey: A Fresh Food Adventure. He was appointed ambassador for Cottage by the Sea in 2011.
Curtis Stone has partnered with Coles Supermarket for over ten years and is the ambassador of their fresh food and recipes. He voiced the character Todd in Trolls (2016) and Trolls Holiday (2017). He wrote Cooking With Curtis: Easy, Everyday and Adventurous Recipes for the Home Cook.
Personal life
Curtis Stone married his American actress Lindsay Price in June 2013 at the five-star Hilton Sa Torre Mallorca Resort in Spain. In June 2023, the couple celebrated ten years of blissful marriage. They share two children – Hudson and Emerson.
Stone met Lindsay through a mutual friend who organised a blind date. Their first date was dinner at Terroni’s in Los Angeles, and they got engaged in July 2012.
