Concetta Caristo (born 1 August 1994) is an Australian comedian, radio presenter, and podcaster. She is best known for co-hosting the triple j radio show Breakfast on weekdays from 6 – 9 am.
The comedian has appeared on live shows, including Funny As Sin with Ben Kochan in 2022, Comedy Up Latein 2022, and Big Natural Talents with Lauren Bonner in 2021.
Concetta Caristo was born on 1 August 1994. She is of Italian heritage and has an Australian accent. She describes herself as the most Italian woman in the world but has never been to Italy.
Career
Caristo got her start in the 2018 Improv Theatre competition in Sydney and started performing comedy in 2019. She has appeared in many television shows, including The Cheap Seats and Would I Lie To You?, both on Network Ten.
The comedian appeared on Celebrity Letters and Numbers on SBC, ABCTV’s Question Everything, and Australia: Now and Then on Channel 7.
In 2023, Caristo received a Moosehead Award. She was a Semi-Finalist in the 2022 Funny Women Awards. She has performed at the Enmore Theatre, The Comedy Store, and the Sydney Opera House.
Caristo is a two-time grand finalist of the Sydney comedy institution, the Theatresports Cranston Cup. She co-created and co-hosts the podcasts Big Natural Talents and The Quibble Hour.
In 2022, Caristo wrote ‘Brad Pitt’s weirdest bomb deserves a new life after Death‘ in The Sydney Morning Herald. She wrote the column ‘Concetta Caristo: The 10 funniest things I have ever seen (on the internet)‘ for The Guardian in October 2021.
Aside from Comedy, Caristo speaks out against domestic violence. She hosts the show I’m Brave & Beautiful, which has raised money for a domestic violence support service.
Concetta joined the morning radio show, having joined in December 2022. She hosts the breakfast programme, alongside Bryce Mills, on the Australian Broadcasting Company. She has interviewed celebrated personalities, including Paul Rudd and Lil Nas X.
