Early Life

Helena Vestergaard was born on 4 December 1993 in Melbourne, Australia. She grew up in Australia, between Sydney and Melbourne, but traveled a lot as a child to South Africa and Denmark, where her parents are from.

At 11, Vestergaard suffered depression and anxiety, which was hard on her family. She couldn’t cope well in a standard school environment. She joined a dance school at 14.

Vestergaard was scouted while working in television after leaving school. Her depression returned, and she spiraled into having a severe eating disorder when she was 16.

Career

Modeling was never on her list; Helena had thought she would be a professional dancer. But fate came into the picture when a photographer scouted her when taking dance photos of a show she was in. She then started to do modeling jobs occasionally.

Helena doubted if she would make it far in the modeling industry. The pictures of herself in her head were not beautiful or skinny or tall. At that time, she was 5’7 and thought she was muscular from dancing.

Dancing had been her profession before she tried modeling. Helena decided to be serious with modeling after moving to Los Angeles at 19. Since she needed more money to support herself, fast forward to this day, she enjoys being a model.
