Early Life
James “Jimmy” Nicholson was born on 20 November 1989. He is from Sydney, New South Wales and is of New Zealand and Fijian descent. He was named after his late uncle, who died of electrocution at eight.
Nicholson says he chose the name Jimmy out of respect for his late uncle. “His birth name was James but he was always known as Jimmy…so out of respect for him I thought I should be Jimmy”.
Career
Nicholson is a commercial pilot and flies A320s. He has worked for the likes of Qantas in the past. He was the Bachelor for the season nine of The Bachelor in 2021.
Personal Life
Jimmy Nicholson married the internet personality Holly Kingston in a ceremony at Nicholson’s parents’ home in Palm Beach, Sydney.
The wedding reception was at the Church Point restaurant in Pasadena. The couple is the fifth couple from The Bachelor Australia’s franchise to tie the knot.
In 2021, Nicholson splashed $1.42million on an apartment in North Bondi. He and his wife, Holly Kingston, settled into the apartment a few months after the dating show The Bachelor Australia.
He met Holly on the national TV show The Bachelor Australia, and they have been together ever since. Jimmy proposed to Holly during a six-week Italian holiday. They had their honeymoon in Europe, starting in Italy and finishing in Greece and Spain.
Nicholson and Holly announced that they are expecting a baby in June 2024.
His pet kitten, Gus, developed health problems in 2022 and was put out of misery. He has a dog, Billie.
The 34-year-old is close to his parents, Noel and Susan Nicholson. He has a sister, Dr Tahnee Nicholson, and is an uncle to her one-year-old child, Brad.
